WHERE IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE TO WORK IN BRITAIN?

Happy #YorkshireDay everyone! A day dedicated to celebrating Yorkshire puddings, tea and all things Yorkshire.

Speaking of Yorkshire Day, Yorkshire and the Humber has been voted the happiest place to work in Britain!

This is according to recent research carried out by the Happiness Works, on behalf of the recruitment specialists, Robert Half UK.

77% of those who worked within Yorkshire and the Humber said that they were happy at work.  This is well above the National average of 63%!

The unhappiest employees in Britain were found to be in Scotland and South England. This is probably due to the fact that 35% of Southerners say that their job is stressful and that they don’t have good friends in the office or they don’t get on with their team.

So, what are some of the reasons as to why workers in Yorkshire and the Humber are so happy? It was found that 72% said that they have good friends in the office, 88% get on with their team, 38% suffer less stress, and 74% find their work interesting. (OneRec)

Senior Managing Director at Robert Half UK, Phil Sheridan, has said that, “While employee happiness levels may vary across the UK, the bottom line remains the same. Happiness is an individual experience and one solution may not work for everybody.” (OneRec)

What do you think makes a happy worker? As Phil Sheridan says, “happiness is an individual experience” and there are a multitude of things that can affect our happiness and what inevitably leads to us feeling happy.
